母に死なれ、天涯孤独となった少女・ゆうき。親戚たちは誰も彼女を引き取りたがらない。そんな様子を見かねた葬儀屋社員・丸団児（まるだんじ）は、ゆうきを引き取る事を決意。実は丸は十年前に交通事故で妻と子を亡くしており、ゆうきに亡き息子の面影を重ねたのだった。血は繋がっていないし、男ひとり・娘ひとりで喧嘩も絶えないけど、いつか「お父さん」と呼んでくれる日を願って丸は頑張る。血の繋がらない父と娘が様々な困難を乗り越え絆を深めていく、涙なしには読めないヒューマンドラマの名作！
